    David A. Hawse, M.D., FAAP

    Dr. Hawse brought his knowledge of pediatrics with interests in pediatric cardiology to Commonwealth Pediatrics in 2000. He has a deep admiration for children, in particular, their attitudes toward life. “Children are truly remarkable,” he says. “In many ways, they are so much stronger than we are, especially in the way they are able to rebound from illness.” After graduating from the UK School of Medicine, Dr. Hawse completed his pediatric residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He and his wife, Beth, also a pediatrician with Commonwealth Pediatrics, have three children: Michael, Thomas and Kate. In his free time, Dr. Hawse enjoys cooking and golfing.

    Elizabeth C. Hawse, M.D., FAAP

    Dr. Hawse joined Commonwealth Pediatrics in 2002. Her interests are in rheumatology, adolescent medicine, dermatology and infectious diseases. “As a mother I want the best for my child, and as a pediatrician I want to practice in a setting that provides quality, compassionate care,” she says. “That’s why I chose this practice. Everyone here is excited about giving the best possible care to their patients.” Like her husband, Dr. Hawse is a graduate of the UK School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Florida. The Hawses have three children: Michael, Thomas and Kate. In her free time she enjoys needlepoint, cooking and driving her kids to sporting events.

    Caitlyn E. Neltner, M.D., FAAP

    Dr. Neltner is excited to be joining Commonwealth Pediatrics in Summer 2021. She grew up in Winchester, KY and went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital in Charlottesville. Dr. Neltner brings with her interests in child advocacy and community outreach. She is excited to return to Central Kentucky to serve local children and their families. In her free time, Dr. Neltner enjoys spending time with her husband and their goldendoodle, Winnie, traveling, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats!

    Best advice for parents:  Don’t blink. Time moves so quickly…cherish each day!

    Dr. Toria Edge

    Dr. Edge joined Commonwealth Pediatrics in October 2022. She was born and raised in Northern Kentucky and spent 8 years in Lexington for undergraduate and medical school training. She is excited to call Lexington home again after completing her pediatric residency at University of Florida in Gainesville. Don't worry she still bleeds UK blue and has stayed a 'GatorHater' in her time away. Her interests include infant development and child safety. Her hobbies include exploring Lexington's great restaurant scene, spending time with her family, and traveling around the world.

    Amanda F. Dressman, APRN

    Amanda is a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the Kentucky Board of Nursing and certified throughout the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  She received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University in 2001.  Amanda then worked on the adolescent medical surgical unit at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital while obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2004.  She then worked as a Clinical Manager at CCHMC during her Master’s Program at NKU. She graduated in 2009 and practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in the pulmonary division at CCHMC serving the Cystic Fibrosis population prior to joining CW Pediatrics.  Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and two boys, running, and trying new foods.

    Best advice for parents:  You can never spoil a child with lots of hugs and kisses.
